Susan, with all of the store discounts, coupons and cash back offers ( like ECB's you get at CVS ) I calculated a savings of approximately $90. I call that a successful weekend. It took a fair amount of work on my part to layout where we bought what, but for the $90 in savings it was well worth it.
I could have done a little better as I found out afterwards that I had a coupon on the ice cream we had purchased that was already half price, but that was my mistake.
One of the other things that I am now doing is to GET THE RAIN CHECKS on good deals. In this way when you come back the next time you may also have a coupon on that item. A lot of stores will allow you to get multiples on the riancheck. I am learning that I should take advantage of this and never only ask for one on a riancheck.
